Gravity models rely upon knowing the gross
sales potential of each neighborhood. This can also include forecasting sales potential
within a particular market segment.
The model should be designed to mesh with the data that will be used when the
model is implemented. In GIS analysis and most other large data analyses, the
characteristics of individuals are summarized into the neighborhood's demographic or
psychographic profile.
